Tupelo Football vs. Brandon 9.11.15

After an 80-minute rain delay, Tupelo faced the Brandon Bulldogs in Brandon. After a short, unsuccessful opening drive for Tupelo, Brandon returned the punt 69 yards for a touchdown only five minutes into the first quarter. The Bulldogs scored again after a Tupelo turnover with 7:42 left in the first, making the score 14-0. With three minutes left in the first, Tupelo’s Keegan Huddleston ran 15 yards for a much needed touchdown for the Wave. The first quarter ended with Brandon leading 21-7.

Brandon increased its lead to 24-7 late in the second quarter. After another fumble by Tupelo, the Bulldogs scored a touchdown on Boise State’s Statue of Liberty play. After another field goal and a total of three turnovers, the first half ended with Brandon leading Tupelo 34-7.

Chase Cannon recovered a fumble and returned it 25 yards for a touchdown and then a two-point conversion for the Golden Wave, cutting Brandon’s lead to 34-15 early in the third. Brandon scored one last touchdown in the fourth quarter, making the final score 41-15.

Tupelo will have an off week and then travel to face Hernando Sept. 25.
