How to check the air pressure in a tire.
The Automotive Service Technology class and Mr. Harper demonstrate the proper way to check the air pressure in a tire.
Don’t ignore the tire pressure sensor warning light.
Step 1: Find your recommended tire pressure. It should be listed in the owner’s manual or sometimes is listed on a sticker inside the driver’s side door.
Step 2: Unscrew the cap from the tire valve stem.
Step 3: Press the pressure gauge onto the tire valve stem and read the pressure shown on the extended part of the tire pressure gauge.
Step 4: If air is low, add air to the recommended pressure. It is not safe to ride on a tire that does not have enough air. The car can pull to the side of the low tire.
