Game Review: Mario Kart App

Whoo, Mario Kart World Tour! Who remembers playing that on the Nintendo console when you were 7 or around that age? With a cousin, sibling, or friend, you used to knock each other off the track.

Now the game is available on a mobile app. Skyrim, Halo, Call of Duty and other games that used to be on console only are now in the app store. Now another memorable game is in the store. So how’d it do?

“The Game is ok. The good part about it was that until now the game was console exclusive, now it’s on something I use all the time. I don’t have to carry around a $300 dollar Nintendo switch or an entire game console. I like it because I can relive childhood memories on my phone,” Hi-Times journalist Elijah Wilson said.

“But that’s what’s different about with the app version: nothing can beat the original. The one thing that I don’t like about it was that you had to unlock characters [on the app] when they were already unlocked on the console.”

“It helps that you can buy characters without using actual cash. The majority of people who have mobile, console, or PC games usually require you to pay and I respect Nintendo for not doing that. The mini control pad is a little confusing and the controls lagged, but overall and 8/10. The only problem with it is that you have to have a specific amount of stars to get to the next level,” App user Bella Collins said.

So while the new app has its perks, there are things that bother people personally and bugs that need to be fixed with the game as a whole. Even so for the most part it has a positive review. A  4.8 out of a 5-star rating.

If you all have the game, what do you think about it?
