Outside Japan, anime refers specifically to animation from Japan or as a Japanese-disseminated animation style often characterized by colorful graphics, vibrant characters and fantastical themes. So let’s take a look  at some of the top anime. Although this list is 5% opinion and 95% fact.¨

One Piece Created and illustrated by Eichro Oda and his team. 

One Piece follows the life of a pirate Monkey D Luffy who’s life’s goal is to become the King of Pirates and find the legendary treasure known as the “One Piece” that was left behind by former and first pirate king Gold D Roger. As he travels the seas, he makes new friends and crew mates all of them deadly in more ways than one. True this particular anime takes some time to get into but it’s well worth your time I promise. The show has a lot of suspenseful events that push you to the edge of your seat. Everything and everyone is connected to one man, Gold Roger, but how?

My Hero Academia Created by Kohei Horikoshi and his team 

My Hero Academia follows the life of Izuku Midoriya a boy born into a society where superpowers are normal but called quarks. Midoriya is born without a quark. Midoriya dreams  to become a hero but without powers it is impossible until he meets the number hero All Might who bestows upon him a quark. Now that Midoriya has  a quark, he aims to be the number one hero while making friends and rivals along the way.  This anime is fairly new to the block and just got its 4th season premiere on October 12th, 2019. So I can ́’t say whether it’s worth your time or not, but I’m still going to check it out.

Dragon Ball Z Created and illustrated by Akirya toriyama and His team.   

Dragon Ball Z follows the life a Saiyan named Goku whose goal is to become the strongest warrior in the universe. Over the course of his life, he faces many hardships that force him to surpass his limits to protect and save the world and the universe. A huge moment in his life is when he meets Frieza, the evil emperor of the universe, who wants to wish for him to be immortal. Goku has to learn to tap into super saiyan to stop him and save everyone. This Anime takes some time getting used to and is very long depending on where you start.  Credit Zack A.

Naruto Shippuden  created by Masashi Kishimoto and his team.  

Naruto Shippuden follows the life of Naruto Uzumaki who wants the hokage, someone whois loved and respected by everyone in the village unlike Naruto. An evil organization named the Akatsuki hunts down jinchuriki, people with a tailed beast inside of them. Naruto has a hard life in front of him how will he stay positive? This anime was very good as the plot gets thicker and thicker.  I mean when [a main character] is killed I was like, “Please don’t die.”

Fullmetal alchemist  created by Hiromu Arakawa and his team.

Fullmetal  alchemist follows the life of 2 brothers named Edward and Alphonse Elric who were both very young when their mother died of an illness that had spread throughout their village. In deep grief over the lost of their mother, the two brothers attempt to bring her back using alchemy only to find that it’s a great taboo to transmute human life. As a result Ed loses his right arm while his brother Alphonse loses his body. To keep his brother, Ed trades his left leg for his soul and binds it to a suit of armor. Now these two brothers have a goal to search for the philosopher’s stone in order to gain their bodies back. Who needs another reason to tell watch, I mean come on.
