CTE holds Fundraising Pageant
Shelbie Spain was crowned 2021 Miss Industry on October 29 at the Tupelo Career Technical Center Miss Industry pageant.
The pageant is a fundraiser for FCCLA, Family Community Career Leaders of America that is a school organization that is under the umbrella of career and technical education” according to Ms.Richey.
Participants were judged on their “stage presence, poise, and formal wear” Ms.Richey said. In the first round, “the participants wore blue and gold business casual to represent our school and show school spirit while looking like professionals.” In the second round, they wore formal ball gowns.
The top 5 included Katherine Mayfield, Jessica McGaughy, Savannah Scruggs, Mariana Meza, and the winner Shelbie Spain
Shelbie says how she “felt like [she] was on top of the world” when she heard her name being called she also said it “was overall a great moment for [her]”
