Tupelo Soccer triumphed over the Saltillo tigers, with the girls winning 3-0 and the boys 2-1. The Lady Wave moves to 8-0(1-0) and the boys 6-1(1-0).
In the first game, sophomore Jameyah Hubbard scored the opening goals in the 18th and 41st minute and after half time 8th grader Dylan Miller secured the third and final goal in the 72nd minute. The lady wave has outscored opponents this season 30-2 remaining undefeated as they travel to Jackson this weekend to face off against last year’s MHSAA state champions Northwest Rankin as well as Madison Central.
In the second game, senior Luke Ueltschey secures the first and only goal of the half in the 35th minute. After halftime, the Tigers manage to slip one past to tie the game, but in the 72nd minute, Junior West Hill finishes a ball from Junior Lewis Herman securing the win over the tigers. This weekend they travel down to Jackson to play state finalist Northwest Rankin as well as Madison Central.
