School Body supports Lady Wave basketball as they head to ‘Big House’
Students leave class to send off the Lady Wave basketball team as they travel to Jackson MS for State Semi Finals.
“What a great thing to do for a Brain Break!” Dr. Melissa Thomas said.
Today Tupelo High School sent off the Lady Wave Basketball to the “Big House” in Jackson for the semifinals. To wish their girls the best of luck, Tupelo High School students took a “Brain Break” to cheer on our Lady Wave Basketball.
“Several of the seniors [basketball players] asked if we could get a few students to cheer them on as they left. I said, ‘I think we can do better than that,'” Thomas said.
Thomas arranged for THS students to gather outside the dome to support the team on their way to the game. Several students made signs showing their support for the girls, and Thomas even sported new custom basketball shoes.
Thomas expressed her joy for the team as she waved them off. And for the rest of the student body as she watched them support their classmates.
“I’m so proud of my kids. They know how to act and I can give them [opportunities] like this,” Thomas said.
