Anderson Shoemaker’s initial reaction to getting an invitation to become a member of the Nation English Honor Society was very shocking.
“Initially, I was a little hurt because my friend got the notification on his phone, and I thought I didn’t make it because my inbox wasn’t loading. But, when I got the email, I was relieved and excited because I knew I put the work in,” sophomore Anderson Shoemaker said.
Being a part of the NEHS brings many opportunities for its members.
“Joining the National English Honor Society can offer numerous benefits, including opportunities for leadership and networking with other inductees. Along with networking I also get the chance to meet new people who I would’ve never met or even considered a friend without being inducted into the club. Also being a part of the club gives me access to exclusive resources,” Shoemaker said.
NEHS shapes the future of Shoemaker in a special way because this is a once in a lifetime opportunity.
“NEHS gives Scholarship opportunities and the chance to participate in community service projects that promote literacy and the importance of English education which can influence others to value language arts. It can also enhance my college applications and demonstrate my commitment to academic excellence in the English classroom,” Shoemaker said.”
Congratulations to all the members of the NEHS for being inducted to a very special and exciting program.
