TUPELO – Tupelo Lady Wave Volleyball started the season strong with road sweeps over Amory, New Albany, and Clinton. “I think it’s really good. It’s really exciting to start the season off strong. We just need to make sure that we continue to keep doing what we’re doing and not let it get to our heads,” said volleyball captain, Gracie Hopkins. The team is also under amazing leadership with new head coach, Laura Booth. “We’re way more focused and like, when we come into practice, we show up to practice and don’t goof off as much as we probably once did again, like, it’s a more intense mindset,” said senior, Sarah Foster.
After, their first loss at DeSoto Central Monday night, the team’s record now stands at 3-1. But the team will continue to work hard and look for another sweep against division foe Clinton, scheduled for August 16th at 5:00 p.m. (CT) at Tupelo High School.
