Maria Alsadi, a fine arts student at Tupelo High School, immerses herself in a variety of artistic media. This semester, she is enrolled in Art 3, Drawing 1, and 2.
Maria finds art to be therapeutic and expressive. “I like to do art because it’s therapeutic,” she explains. “It’s really fun to be creative and express yourself.”
What inspires Maria is creating art that resonates with others. She strives to make her work open-ended, allowing viewers to interpret her pieces and find their own meanings.
“The things that inspire me are the things I like,” she says. “I try to make my art expressive, so when people look at it, they can have their own meaning to it.”
Currently, Maria is working on a self-portrait, showcasing her artistic growth. She has also recently completed a project that resembles life and death.
As Maria continues to work on her art, art remains a vital part of her life, serving as a means of self-discovery and a source of joy.
