You could have a good day,but then you can have a really bad day,and that can be very frustrating at times,But If I have a bad day,I just practice more and just go out and try again and do better.” Junior,Summer Walker has been playing golf since the seventh grade, she is now in the eleventh grade and she talks about how her difficult days give her the motivation to practice more. She advises new golfers to practice extensively, and not to get unmotivated easily because there are better days to come.
In Addition to Summer Walker, the next student is also a junior here at THS,Mitchell Rhea.He states that he shared his passion for golf with his father from a very young age.He appreciates golf for its dual nature as both a team and individual sport. He wants give a reminder to any upcoming golfers to practice everyday and never give up.
”I love the aspect on how it can be a team sport, but it can also be individually played and you’re by yourself out there.”,Mitchell Rhea started playing golf as just something to do with his dad when he was younger,he states that he didn’t start taking golf seriously until 3-4 years ago, this shows any upcoming golfers or golf lovers that they can do the same at any age, which can be very inspiring to others.
In Comparison to Mitchell Rhea, the next student is Autumn Simmons. She would watch her sister play golf her freshman through senior year and that is what inspired her to start playing golf.Although she loves the sport and encourages others to take the chance as well, she does faces challenges at times.
”Really just the mental aspect of it, because while golf is, I mean, it’s obviously a physical sport, but most of its mental, because you got to kind of fight with because you always want to do good, but you have to make sure that you don’t get in your head too much, because it’s very mental game, because you’re by yourself.” Despite the fact that there are challenges at times she is still beyond grateful for the opportunities, and she wants to remind others to just have fun with it,and don’t let the sport dominate your life and who you are as a person.
