We interviewed a couple of students from Synergy to see how they feel about the show and this new year experience.
“ I feel really good about the show this year! I think it’s very different from what we’re used to and it shows that we can be different!” Jones states.
Embracing new unique styles allow synergy to break free from traditions and reach new heights in performance.
“I think we have a really good chance of winning the GC (Grand champion) this year. We have worked so hard since august! We just all need to believe that it will happen and keep pushing!”
Tupelo Synergy has always got so close to winning GC but they have also tied for it and always came in second place , known as first runner up. True success comes from embracing what makes them different . it’s the courage that turned their visions into victory.
“We will be embracing a new side. I don’t want to spoil what the show is about this year but it will be shocking.” jade states.
After the show choir made the bold decision to embrace new styles and themes, the next step was to see how these changes would resonate with audiences and judges alike.
“I feel very confident in our show this year! Doing something different or out of the ordinary may feel a bit weird, but as a group we have embraced this new change and that’s one thing I love about synergy!” Britton states.
“Without spoiling our show. It is taking a very different approach this year than our usual show. We showcase a different side of ourselves, but i think whoever enjoys watching synergy will love the show as much as we enjoy doing it!!!” Carley Britton states.
This year the hard work is not going in vain.
“The show is bigger than just a simple concept and yet people can still connect to it in different ways. It’s not just for show but it really teaches and shows off a deeper meaning of infectious joy.” White states.
This comeback is personal. You know how it is , and what they say different circus , same clowns.
“I feel great about the show this year! It’s become something more than just a show to me. It’s also my senior show so it also is bittersweet at the same time! I’m super excited to share what we have.” Lauren Wilson states.
“ I think this show is different in many ways, we’re telling a story about the legacy of an unsung hero who had to persevere through some pretty tough times while simultaneously doing some amazing things. Thus making the weight of telling the story 100% correct is extremely important. I also feel there are so many different genres of music in this show which makes it more enjoyable and gives everyone something to connect with!” Wilson also states.
This year’s journey not only strengthened their musical talents but also deepened their bonds as a community. Reflecting on their experiences Cami Britton, a senior show choir member shared “Show choir has taught us to find our voice , both on stage and in life.”
