If you walk into many buildings on the THS Campus, you’ll see a sign with a wave logo. ( W – working together, A- acting responsibly, V – valuing education, E – excelling in everything. Coach Boyd believes that being a part of the W.A.V.E. means more than just the symbolic meaning of it.
“As a teacher, W.A.V.E. means to take pride in the school that I teach at, to make sure that I am upholding the values and the traditions that we want in our school, and to give to our teachers. That’s what W.A.V.E. means to me,” Coach Boyd said.
Coach Boyd doesn’t just talk about those values; she brings them into her classroom every day. “One way is through my relationships, to make sure that I am a positive role model for kids, to make sure that I mentor them in the way that is right,” Boyd said. “I also make sure that I love them, but also am firm and teach them exactly what it means to be a W.A.V.E. student.”
