Meredith Beasley, sports editor for The Hi-Times, won two awards in a regional journalism competition sponsored by the Southern Interscholastic Press Association. The SIPA convention was held March 4-6 in Columbia, South Carolina.

Beasley earned a first place in the Sports Story category for her story about sisters and Lady Wave softball teammates Ali and Ivy Watts. She also won a second place in the Sports Column category for her Get Hyped column that featured the student sections at THS.
