Homecoming Parade and Pep Rally at FairPark

What Happened: Tupelo Public School Students took to the streets of Tupelo Thursday, September 20 to show off their Golden Wave Pride. Members of the Long Blue Line Marching Band, The THS Co-Ed Cheerleaders, The Lady Wave and Golden Wave Basketball Teams marched with students from all TPSD Schools to represent their school spirit. The Homecoming court maids rode in convertibles with their escorts to be introduced to the city. Following each grades’ maids was a large float filled with students from each grade. After the parade, the 2018 Homecoming was introduced on the Front Porch of City Hall.

They Said It: “It was my last shot and I knew that we had to show out,” Zaria Coleman, Senior Class Officer said. “It was horribly hot until we started moving and I felt the breeze. We were lit. We thought we [might] fall because the football boys were dancing and [the float] was shaking. We were turnt!”
