On Thursday, October 3rd, the Lady Wave Volleyball team and various other sports partnered together to host a volleyball tournament benefiting athletic trainer, Joel Kennedy, who was diagnosed with cancer t
All donations and concession proceeds went directly to Joel’s fight against cancer.
Several teams and faculty including basketball, baseball, tennis, soccer, teachers, and coaches participated in the benefit.
The Lady Wave Varsity team took the title as champions, beating the coaches. By the end of the event, the benefit raised $1,500 for Joel.
Volleyball Coach Laurie Bishop and the Lady Wave Volleyball team hope to host another fundraiser in the future for Joel’s battle against cancer.
