Siberian husky wins the Top Dog contest

Bleu, a Siberian husky belonging to freshman Michia Crowley, was selected as the Top Dog in the Law and Public Safety fundraising competition.

The Top Dog competition is a big fundraiser for the CTE Law and Public Safety class. The winner serves as the mascot for the class for the year.

“We had a total of 18 participants ranging from small breed to large breed dogs,” said Law and Public Safety teacher Kimetra Bernard.

Students and staff members were asked to vote on the Top Dog via email and Canvas.

“We also did a ballot at our car and bike show for CTE Fall Festival, where the guests came out to vote for it,” said Bernard.

“Bleu is five years old, he also knows how to shake people’s hands. He knows how to behave in public as well,“ said Crowley.

Math teacher Ms. Kelly Marlin dog’s “Kota” was second for the contest, and sophomore Emily Johson’s dog “Thor ” came in 3rd place.

“We always associate dogs with law enforcement. So we want to have a top dog for our department in law and public safety. I thought it’d be something really fun for everybody to bring out their dogs and who doesn’t love a dog?” said Bernard.
