Coached by head coach Matt Justice, assistant coach Pashonda Edwards, the Tupelo Lady Wave is currently ranked number 4 in Mississippi. The team is preparing for the season by using Energy, Effort, and Execute to pull them along the way.
“Preseason has gone well. We’ve worked on getting in shape and strong and learning new positions,” Edwards said.
Tupelo basketball is working on three-peating for state championships.
“Chemistry and communication are some of our main focuses. The players have been working hard, and they have really bought into what the coaches are saying,” Justice said.
Building and working on confidence is a main goal for the Lady Wave. From the weight room to training with coach Brian Rucker and all the conditioning, Tupelo is getting better every day.
“Just building with my teammates and learning the game more has been fun. I think we have a big target on our back this season, but we’ve grinded and were ready for the season,” senior Olivia Smith said.
The season is right around the corner, and the Lady Wave cannot wait to see what the season holds for them.
