With 6:40 left in the third, Tupelo’s Chase Cannon blocked Southaven’s punt, which resulted in the Wave’s only touchdown of the night. This brought Tupelo’s lead to 7-0.
Southaven tied the game on a 3-yard run touchdown with 10:45 remaining in the fourth. Regulation time ended with the score 7-7.
In overtime, Tupelo didn’t score due to a fourth-and-goal incomplete pass attempt from the 2-yard line.
Southaven claimed the victory after scoring a touchdown on its overtime possession.
The final score was 13-7, making Tupelo’s record 3-4.
Tupelo will travel to face South Panola Oct. 16.
