The Golden Wave defeated Olive Branch at Renasant Field Nov. 5. All the seniors were captains because it was senior night.
Chris Shannon scored the 1st touchdown for Tupelo leaving the score 7-7 in the the first quarter. Kegan Huddleston gets a 3-yard rushing touchdown giving Tupelo a lead with 13-7 with 10:49 remaining in the first half.
Huddleston scored on a 1-yard run and Bristow added a 2 point conversion run. Daniel Bristow 56 yard run off a zone tied the score which was 28-28.
In the fourth, a 40 yard pass from Bristow To Austin Watkins set up a 39 yard touch down from Watkins to Quien Salters with 10:17 left in the game.A 36 yard pass from Donte Freeman to Shannon then to Huddleston who scored on a 1-yard run with 17 sec left. Huddleston scored 3 touch down including the winning one. Rdarious Edwards intercepted two of Olive Branch pass which caused them not to score and left the final score at 35-38.
This game cause the Golden Waves to enter in the Class 6A state playoffs who they will be playing at an away conference at Warren Central High School in Vicksburg, MS Nov. 13.
