On October 3, Tupelo High School held a special celebration of Military Night at the football game. The Honor Guard presented the flags while the band played the national anthem. The spirit team of the JROTC cheered loudly, showing support for both the football team and the JORTC “members” being honored.
A huge flag was also unfurled on the field by approximately 40 students from the JROTC program. The purpose of the flag is so that the people can see the patriotism of the students and of THS.
Brian Amigon, one of the students who helped plan the event, said his favorite part was preparing everything and making sure the night ran smoothly.
“Military Night is important because it gives people a chance to honor veterans and active duty members for their service,” Amigon said.
The night was filled with pride, courage, bravery, and respect. It reminded everyone at Tupelo High of the importance of appreciating those who protect our country.
